..all are sacred..

Feelings, whether of compassion or irritation,
should be welcomed, recognized, and treated
on an absolutely equal basis; because both are
ourselves. The tangerine I am eating is me.
The mustard greens I am planting are me.
I plant with all my heart and mind. I clean
this teapot with the kind of attention I would have
were I giving the baby Buddha or Jesus a bath.
Nothing should be treated more carefully
than anything else. In mindfulness...
compassion,
irritation,
mustard green plant,
and teapot
are all sacred.

handmade birthday cards..

Below are a few of the handmade cards i made last week..
have got loads of family and friends birthdays coming up
over the next few months and as we are gonna be away
i’ve been trying to get them sorted before we go, it’s gonna
be one of those trips where we’ve no real plans other than
the country we’ll be in and so won’t know where we’ll be
one day from the next.. and don’t want to miss sending birthday wishes…

so i’ve had a busy but enjoyable week playing with
card, paper and ink when-ever i got the chance…
made some more for the shop as well but no point listing

those til we get back as will have to close til then anyway!

Hope you’ve had a good weekend :o)
Soon be Winter Solstice and the beginning..
of more light entering our lives again…

earth breathes..

Our primeval Mother Earth is an organism that
no science in the world can rationalise. Everything
on her that crawls and flies is dependent upon Her
and all must hopelessly perish...
if that Earth dies that feeds us.
~ Viktor Schauberger

The trees and plants show respect for each other
by the way they live in harmony.
This also applies to the animal kingdom...

earth wisdom..

You must teach your children that
the ground beneath their feet is
the ashes of your grandfathers. So that
they will respect the land, tell your children
that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin.
Teach your children what we have taught
our children, that the earth is our mother.
Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons
of the earth. If men spit upon the ground,
they spit upon themselves.

Made4Aid - purple eco rug

The handmade purple eco rug that i made recently has been donated to Made4Aid...

it's just been listed in the auction here so if you are interested in purchasing it bids start at $25..
all the charity's proceeds at present are going to - the World Food Programme's work in refugee camps in Darfur - see more info' on the blog or on their website.
I originally made the wee rug with the intention of donating to a charity and spotted a link to Made4Aid on Jasmine's blog - Natures Whispers (Thanks Jasmine :)
Even if you are not interested in bidding on the rug, Made4Aid is well worth checking out for other beautiful handmade crafts auctioned there... or you may wish to donate a little handmade creation of your own ;o) ..info about donating to Made4Aid here.
